Plenty of room to write above the lines. This might not be the best cryptogram book for a beginner though. There are no clues and many of the puzzles are fairly challenging (shorter is harder, fewer patterns to discern.)
My only complaint is that the quotes themselves tend to be stuffy and preachy. Not too much
